To eliminate this, turn it on outside with a pot of water at the MAX heat level (level 5) for 15 minutes. Running it without water can easily discolor the stainless steel part. The burner heats itself to transfer heat to the pot, so avoid touching the stove body during use. Always turn off the electric stove and unplug it when not in use to ensure safety.
